John,
Thank you so much for the "Wings of Love" ceremony that you provided at my best friend's funeral yesterday. Everybody was very impressed and it was a very emotional moment for David, Liz's husband. You did what you said you would; you promised me you would handle the details and it was a very nice ending. I just can't say thank you enough. I increased the fee we discussed due to the extra time delay and because you provided way more than I ever expected. Sincerely, SS

For the last few years, I have offered my birds for release at the October Memorial for Sharing Parents of Sacramento, a volunteer support group of parents who have experienced the death of their baby(ies) from the time of conception through early infancy. These are several notes from my first release with the group.

I can't thank you enough for the spectacular dove release that you donated for Sharing Parents. It took my breath away... your birds were so beautiful. Thank you for your generosity. It was a very special October Memorial for us.

Thank you so much for providing your beautiful doves! We are thankful for your generosity.

This letter is in appreciation and thankfulness to John McCalmon for his donation of a dove release to Grace Presbyterian Church's Easter Celebration. In return, the church was able to donate per his request to the City of Hope.

Wings of Love,
Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to help make Memorial Day meaningful for so many. Cherokee Memorial Park

Dear John,
We wanted to thank you for the wonerful job you did at our son's rememberance event.
Through your birds you do all this card says...

Some impart wisdom or comfort and care.
Some point out the path, and some take you there.
Some warm the heart with a human touch.
You have all these gifts...
Thank you so much.

You show us all the possibilities the world has to offer even after a great loss. The care you showed
to all of us touched and warmed our hearts. Thank you for staying and sharing the rest of our day.
We loved having you there and because of you it was perfect. Sincerely, the entire family of Joren
(I should add that this was a special day for me also. Allowing me to join your family for the day was truly a pleasure. John)

I participated in a program on the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day at Covenant Village of Turlock. After a short speech regarding many of the pigeon heroes of WW I and II we released birds in the courtyard, both by hand and a group release. For this program I used a variety of colored birds representing bird heroes from those wars. The activity director stated it was a brilliant presentation in her thank you note.

Here is a note from a from a child responding to my Elementary School Release Program. Periodically, I visit 5th or 6th grade classes to educate children about the wonders of "Man's Oldest Feathered Friend...

Dear Mr. McCalmon,
I enjoyed watching the pigeons. Now I know pigeons can be a fun pet to have. I like letting them go. I like white pigeons they're pretty. I had never held a pigeon before. And I hope I get a pigeon. Oh and thank you for coming. Elizabeth

Just an added personal thanks for participating in our 9/11 memorial program. It was the perfect touch.
